Moms Who CanThere are Moms who can breastfeed and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can make their own baby food and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can co-sleep with their babies and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can let their babies “cry it out” and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can set schedules for their children and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can cook dinner every night and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can always control their temper and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can tolerate mud and dirt and germs and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can sew clothes and blankets and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can save a lot of money and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can play with and read to their kids every day and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can sing lullabies and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can stay home all day with their children and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can drop everything to snuggle and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can keep a perfectly clean house and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can help with math or science homework and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can run kids to events and practices and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can entertain without iPads and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can throw great parties and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can tolerate millions of questions and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can have multiple children and there are Moms who can not.

There are Moms who can and there are Moms who can not. And none of us can everything. Some days we can do things that we can not do other days. But not being able to do some of these things doesn’t make us “the bad mom;” it makes us who we are. It makes us someone our children know and love and depend on. It makes us their “Mom.”

There are Moms who can and there are Moms who can not. And I am both.
