The BEST Brownies Ever

best-browniesThese are the best brownies.

In the whole world.

I’ve made it my mission to find the very best recipe of every kind of food out there. (Still searching for a lot of them.) These are the best brownies. I can’t even tell you how many recipes I’ve tried through my years of brownie-ing. I always went back to box brownies because, although flawed in many ways, their texture was closest to what I was looking for…especially if I mixed in some add ins such as candy bars (a trick I learned from my sister) or peanut butter chips.

Finally one day, while having dinner at our friends’ house, I found them. The most amazing, perfect brownies. This happened to be the same friend I wrote about in my Why I Don’t Apologize for My Messy House post. Told you she was inspiring! I asked her where these brownies came from, expecting it to be some sort of specialty mix or something. She said she made them.

“Like, from scratch?” I asked hopeful.

“Yeah,” she laughed at me.

Immediately I pounced on the ‘get me that recipe’ wagon! And kindly, she did. So now you all may benefit from her amazing cooking skills and kind sharing. The best part? They are so easy and fast! Seriously, as easy as box brownies and way better. You don’t even have to soften butter (which strangely I hate!) because you just melt it in the microwave. One look at the recipe will tell  you why they are so delicious…they are a little lacking in the healthy department. But who eats brownies to be healthy? Not this girl.

This recipe calls for peanut butter chips, which I would never leave out, but if you have allergies or you just don’t like them, I don’t believe they are necessary. Just important. And delicious.

Taste tester #1Taste tester approved! We have a branding today (for the cattle ranch we’re on) and we always serve a big lunch to everyone that comes to help. I don’t usually make brownies and let my kids eat the batter at 8:00 in the morning but today is a fun day exception. This also means I’ll have to get you finished pictures later. Sorry! Calves need branded! Hope your day is as adventurous as mine! Taste tester #2
